Daily life

Many ask me about my daily life, and what the days goes to.

Now we are starting to get the daily life here in Kampala. Our job starts at 8 o’clock and contains morning-circle with a lot of singing and dancing, and then we have class – porridge – class – food – washing and sleeping. When the children sleep it’s totally quiet at Miles2smiles and we are able to go to our apartment to rest some before we have our luganda lesson together with teacher Ismail. After that we sometimes stay a little while playing with the children before we go for dinner. Then we go out to eat, or we go to the market to by some vegetables or fruit before heading back to the apartment. And it’s funny how the evening just disappears.

This is mostly what our days contain. But of course no days are the same. Every Thursday we have a excursion instead of luganda lesson. Then our teacher Ismail takes us to different places in Kampala. We have now seen the mosque, Kasubi Tombs and we have been to a play and a piano concert at Ismail’s school (primary school). We also have a lot of visitors at Miles2smiles from different organisations (mostly Stromme Foundation).

Our weekends are mostly filled up with some program. It could be introduction, birthday party, the zoo, Nordic sports day, church etc.
